I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC, trained in EMDR, Expressive Art Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The client/counsellor relationship determines how best to move forward, with informed consent and clearly defined goals. Trauma, both great and small, is a common denominator for many mental health challenges. For children especially, experiences can manifest as attention deficits, defiance, depression and/or anxiety. Often the experiences of our childhood create similar obstacles later in life. My own life experience and training, working with children, youth and adults, allows for a safe, non-judgemental space from which to learn strategies to manage life and move forward, with renewed energy and hope. It is a privilege to walk with you.
My undergrad degree in English Literature provides purchase for empathy and fascination of the human condition. My degree in Education determines my intent to instill curiosity and empowerment. My Masters degree in Counselling Psychology allows me to put into practice all that I’ve lived and learned.
I am a life long learner.
